Sharing Good Practice in Quality Improvement
Look at all the hospitals that have been selected as examples of good practice
In the Hospital/Site Overview data collection, we asked hospitals to tell us what Quality Improvement work they had undertaken to improve PEOLC. From those responses, 68 hospitals were selected as examples of good practice and now feature in this year’s Good Practice Compendium (GPC). This is an interactive tool whereby one can select case studies by theme (e.g. recognition of dying) or QI intervention (e.g. education). You can find a link to the GPC below.
If you wish to contact any of the hospitals in the GPC, please send us an email so we can connect you: nhsbn.nacelsupport@nhs.net.
Driving impact
Here are some of the ways we are driving impact through NACEL
Thanks to your dedicated hard work and time inputting NACEL data, the NACEL team were invited to submit evidence to The Commission on Palliative and End of Life Care, and further contribute to a shared statement of intent for Palliative and End of Life Care to the NHS 10-Year Plan.
We continue to look for opportunities to support national and system level PEOLC programmes, including presentations at national/international conferences, and will share more updates in the future. We are proud to “Have a seat at the table” and be able to represent hospitals across England, Wales and Jersey.
To find local examples of how NACEL has an impact on local end of life care service models, access the NACEL Impact Compendium. We hope this compendium helps demonstrate the value of participating in the audit and shares ideas on how to utilise the data for local quality improvement.
Update to the NACEL Data and Improvement Tool
Find out about the updates we have made to our Data and Improvement Tool (DIT)
We are delighted to announce that we have now moved the NACEL Data and Improvement Tool (DIT) over to a new platform! With this move, we have improved loading times and added some new features, but more importantly this platform will serve as a solid foundation for us to continue development of the DIT in the future.
Although the tool is very similar to the old Data and Improvement Tool, there are some changes to its appearance and functionality. More information about the changes available here.
To access the new platform, you will need to update your password. We have enforced this to ensure the security of the data within the tool.
