NACEL 2025 Mental Health Spotlight Audit- Pilot sites wanted!

Calling all Mental Health inpatient providers in England and Wales, the NACEL Team need your help in the scoping of the NACEL 2025 Mental Health Spotlight Audit.

Calling all Mental Health inpatient providers in England and Wales, the NACEL Team need your help in the scoping of the NACEL 2025 Mental Health Spotlight Audit.

What is the Mental Health Spotlight Audit?
Alongside the current audit running in acute & community hospitals, NACEL will also feature a spotlight audit of Mental Health inpatient providers. The mental health audit ran as part of the main audit in 2018, as a spotlight audit in 2021 and will run again as a spotlight audit in 2025. This spotlight audit is intended to build a national picture of care delivered to dying patients and those important to them, and support healthcare providers and policy makers identify areas for improvement.

What would being a pilot site involve?

We want mental health clinical staff in Mental Health inpatient providers to review the data specifications for each audit element keeping mental health services in mind. The audit elements will remain the same as the main acute & community audit but the data specifications have been tailored to better represent mental health inpatient services. Feedback from pilot sites will be facilitated by a survey provided by the NACEL Team.

Please let us know if your organisation would be interested in being a part of the NACEL 2025 Mental Health Spotlight audit pilot by 15th August by emailing the NACEL Team at: nhsbn.nacelsupport@nhs.net
